Alcyone - Site Administrator and Owner
Alcyone (pronounced Al-SEE-oh-knee) is a student and says she will remain one for the rest of her life. She's studying medicine and heads the Drama Club. In her spare time (of which she has, well, none), she writes a little about everything and plots on how to make the world a better place by removing idiots off its face.
Her current view of life is cynical in the extreme, but don't let that fool you. She's a closet romantic and bleeding heart and can be very sweet and helpful--provided the person hasn't done something to irritate her.
Alcyone's passions include books, Jack Sparrow, anything with rapidly changing G-forces, Jack Sparrow and her iPod, computer and car (which she calls her "babies"). She's also infamous in Twilight Fanfiction as the Volturi Queen and Expert for her passion in her defense and writing of the Volturi (Obsessed? Who, me?).
Julia - Website Designer and Internet Linguist
Julia is probably the youngest person in staff and suffering from an extremely low level of sanity. She enjoys almost all things except the common dislikes (ex. racism) and can come to accept almost anything. The Host Index is the first real website she has designed, having only done other small projects like profiles on websites and a sections for a larger project on a fake band. She can be easy to talk to and then quickly switch to one of the hardest people to talk to depending on who you are and Julia's personal opinion on you. She currently feels much older then her real age (14) and prefers to be with others who are at least 4 years her senior.
Ouisa - Forum Co-Administrator
Ouisa is one of those people who was born old and just gets older every day. She has the unique talent of arguing herself into circles, which makes her ideally suited to discuss philosophy day and night. She's a hopeless romantic with way too much hope. And if you cut her open she would probably bleed sarcasm.
Ouisa's full time occupation is spending time chatting about Stephenie's books. In her spare time, Ouisa is working on her special education degree, takes care of several special needs kids, does photography and graphic design, thoroughly spoils her nieces and nephews, is a devoted slave to two cats, and talks about herself in the third person. Clearly she needs more hobbies!
Ouisa expects to wake up one day and find that her laptop, cell phone, iPod and camera have fully integrated themselves into her body. There they will somehow assist in her master plan to take over the world and make it pretty.
Violet_Quagmire - Forum Moderator
Violet Quagmire is a perpetually optimistic
stay-at-home mom who loves to read, spend time with her family, garden, lure others into veganism, and visit with all of the awesome Host enthusiasts here on the Dex. She
is a lifelong board game fanatic and is particularly obsessed with
Settlers of Catan and Ticket to Ride. Aside from children's picture
books (which make up the bulk of her reading material these days) she
is a huge fan of Stephenie Meyer's books as well as anything written by
Jane Austen, Thomas Hardy, Edith Wharton, and Rett MacPherson.
As a result of growing up in a family of movie buffs, Violet's mind
is filled with an unreasonable amount of useless trivia information
about celebrities, which means that she can barely keep track of her
own mother's birthday and she generally cannot tell you what day,
month, or even year it is without consulting a calendar. Her favorite
films tend to be romantic comedies, costume dramas, or BBC/Masterpiece
Theatre productions. She is truly a kid-at-heart with a love of
toys, rainbows, dolls, picture books, and all things Disney.
Violet is also a closet crafter, meaning that she regularly adds to
an already overflowing closet filled with craft and fabric supplies
because she is deluded into thinking that she will someday have the time and energy to
put this increasingly massive collection of supplies to good use. She
is an incurable pack rat, a dismal housekeeper, and would much rather
see her family enjoying a chaotic mess of toys and clutter than spend
her time trying to maintain a neat and tidy home.
Corygirl - Forum Moderator
Corygirl has a very glass-half-full outlook on life. She likes to find the good in everybody and everything, no matter how bad things look. Her big downfall, however, is that she has the memory of a goldfish. Seriously. She married her high school sweetheart and has been married for four years. She has no children, but would like some very badly someday sooner than later. Her home is completely ruled by her lovely and wonderful kitty, Pia, and she wouldn't want it any other way.
Children have always been Corygirl's number one passion. This is why she finally, after changing majors three times, decided to become a teacher. (Even though her mother, a teacher herself, tried and tried to have her follow another calling) She has been teaching now for three years and LOVES it. Fifth grade students are her calling.
Even though she tries very hard to learn, Corygirl is computer illiterate to a degree. Thanks to her wonderful friends she has come leaps and bounds in her computer ability. When the computer is unavailable or breaks down, she feels lost and unsure of what to do with her time. Hopefully, she will learn to organize her life and increase those memory skills someday, but until then, she is doing her best!
Bella's Ring - Forum Moderator
Bella's Ring shares her life with an interesting cast of characters all of which are resemble fictional ones: There is Edward....he's not a vampire but a very talented animator who designed our squirrel shirts. There is Z and O; they're not brothers (and that's not baby powder you are smelling!) but they do enjoy snacking on grey matter and possess a combined destructive force that puts hurricanes to shame. And then there is Jasper, blond....beautiful....but a tad hairy.
Bella's Ring is the queen of the Seekers, finding the most illusive data for Ouisa. She loves the heat, but hates the sun and if it's possible to overdose on sunscreen, she probably has. She is fiercely
loyal, compassionate and devoted to the global village of Sookiedom. And she has singing pants.
There is so much more to say about Bella' Ring but my withered brain syndrome has flared up and.....
