Biography


Stephenie Meyer was born in Connecticut in 1973, the second of six children and her family settled in Phoenix when she was four. The unusual spelling of her name comes from her father's name, Stephen.

She studied at Brigham Young University, majoring in literature. She met her husband when she was four, but didn't have a serious relationship with him until much later. She's been married ten years and has three sons.

Twilight was her first novel. The idea came to her in the form of a dream, which later became Chapter Thirteen of the novel. Two sequels, New Moon and Eclipse, followed all of which have found a place on the top of the Bestsellers list.

The Host is her first novel for adults.
